- Re ComStar. Zoom tech rep e-mailed me answer to my system's problem with the modem.
- I/O map conflict between the PnP feature of the Rockwell chipset and the floppy drive
- on my PCI bus machine (huh?). Said I could try disabling PnP. I chose not to.
- Zoom said they and Rockwell are working on a workaround. Well, 30 days have passed.
- Nothing to report. Problem isn't even mentioned on their Web pages. No response from
- Zoom tech. Report said that some 30% of PCI bus machines are affected. Seems like
- this warrants some mention.
-
- Symptom is that the Floppy won't work whenever the board is in place and the board
- will not be detected and cannot be programmed with an I/O and IRQ. Happened with
- two of two modems and on two different PCI bus machines.
